A Liebster!

Thanks so much to Eve for nominating me for the Liebster award! I’m so honored she considers my blog worth your time!

creep1

For the Liebster, I must answer Eve’s questions and then make up some of my own for other bloggers to answer—other bloggers whose blogs I think are worth checking out.

So without further delay, let me answer some questions!

1.How important do you think it is to network with other writers?

I’m not super in that sphere at the moment, although I hope to be one day, but I think networking in general is pretty important. It’s always good to have connections. You never know who’s gonna be able to help you out or with what. Plus, it never hurts to make more friends. 😉

2. Do you ever read books more than once? Which ones?

YES. Books that I absolutely love and feel are worth the time to re-read. I’d read them again and again.

3. What’s the scariest or most challenging thing for you about writing?

Hmmm…I think writing things that other people would actually care to read. There’s stuff I could write for myself, but when I write things I want to share, I don’t want people to get bored. I want them to actually be interested in what I have to say, and I struggle with that sometimes.

4. What is the most amazing thing about writing?

Ahh. The way sometimes my ideas can flow into words and others can understand exactly what I was thinking through the words they were reading. It’s amazing.

5. Where is your favorite place to write?

Anywhere! If I get some inspiration randomly, I’ll start scribbling things down.

6. When’s your best time of day to write? Why?

Haha, I have no idea. I’m always awake it feels like and my days are so different I can’t pick such a time.

7. What are three of your favorite words?

Oooh. Conundrum, plethora, indubitably

8. What’s one thing that would tell you you’ve “made it” as a writer?

If someone distinguished or whose writing I quite admired thoroughly enjoyed mine.

9. In terms of writing or reading, what’s the best thing anyone could say to you right now?

You’re not going to lose your skills just because you don’t have the time to invest as much as you’d like to right now.

10. Do you have any rituals, superstitions, or preferences related to writing or editing?

Not really, lol.

11. In the face of all the rejection that comes with being a writer, what advice would you give to someone to help them stay on a path toward achieving their dreams?

Don’t actually worry about what a few people say. Take constructive criticism to heart and keep working to improve your skills and incorporate your own style. And in the end just remember whatever you have is your own work so take it up with a smile.

And now I have some questions of my own.

  1. What made you start blogging?
  2. How often do you write?
  3. What inspires you to write?
  4. Name a guilty pleasure of yours.
  5. What’s your biggest fear when it comes to writing?
  6. What’s your favorite movie?

And the bloggers I’d like to nominate are…

Another Liebster!

Wow, I’m so honored that nopassingfancy nominated me for my second Liebster Award! Thank you! Be sure to check out her blog. It honestly is worth the time.

Paul

For the Liebster, you answer the questions posed to you, and ask some of your own and nominate blogs you think are awesome to answer them!

And to answer her questions…I’ve actually had a couple of these before, but now you’ll be sure to remember my answers. 😉

  1. What is your dream career? Starship Commander! It’d just be so sweet.
  1. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Anywhere where I’m near friends and family.
  1. What helps you relax? Hanging with friends who don’t mind listening to me rant before we move on to fun stuff.
  1. Who inspires you, and why? Oh gosh. There are so many amazing people out there. I guess really anyone who goes through a hard family time at home growing up but turn out to be kind and loving people because they beat the system!
  1. What is your favourite season, and why? Spring! The weather is perfect and it’s so pretty outside!
  1. How long have you been blogging, and what made you start? I started at the end of June. Honestly, it was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision.
  1. What 3 words would you use to describe yourself? Silly, Bubbly, Weird
  1. What has blogging taught you? About people! You guys have so much to say and it’s amazing to learn who you are through your posts.
  1. What is the worst job you have ever had? I had this sketchy gig where I had to call people who didn’t want to be called and try to get them to join the company. What was sketchy was I had to tell them they were recommended even though they really weren’t. Their numbers were just taken from employees and also I was given ways to answer questions they might have…like I had to beat around the bush and not give them straight answers, and I wasn’t even sure what was going on. Needless to say, I didn’t go back after the first day. (And I also didn’t get paid, but whatever.)
  1. What does ‘freedom’ mean to you? Being able to do what you want without inhibition. (Which also means I don’t really think true freedom is possible. I mean we can’t give criminals the right to do crime, can we?)
  1. What’s your favourite food? Lol. I can’t answer this question. Have something yummy? I’ll eat it. XD

So questions from me!

  1. What’s your favorite band/musical group?
  2. Do you like your current job? Or, if you’re in school, do you enjoy it?
  3. Is there a modern society issue that you are passionate about?
  4. What’s your dream pet? (It doesn’t have to be a real animal.)
  5. What’s your favorite movie/TV/book sidekick?
  6. What do you think 2020 is going to look like?
  7. Do you think we’ll have residential hovercraft within your lifetime?
  8. Have you ever invented anything?
  9. Grossest childhood moment?
  10. Favorite dessert to make?
  11. Favorite drink? (Water is totally valid! Also, milk. Yum.)

The people I’d like to nominate for this award are:

  1. Landa
  2. M
  3. Nymph

The Liebster Award

So, this has been a rather blog-taggy week for me. XD There’s this wonderful little award challenge running around that helps people discover new blogs and connect with new friends known as the Liebster Award Challenge.

Look! It's sparkly and pretty colors!
Look! It’s sparkly and pretty colors!

Thanks so much to Penny from Penny Reads for nominating me! Hop on over to check out her blog with its cute title and fun content. 😉

The rules for the Liebster Award Challenge are as follows

  • Thank the nominator and link back to his/her blog.
  • Answer the questions asked by the nominator.
  • Ask eleven questions of your own.
  • Nominate other bloggers of your own!

And now, to answer the questions posed by the bookworm…

 – If you were to write a book, what would it entail?

I’m actually hoping to one day publish a novel. It would have to entail a plot and characters that together form a story that people won’t feel like they’ve wasted their time reading.

– What’s the weirdest place you’ve read a book?

When reading a book, I’m in the book, so I suppose strange fantasy lands?

– What’s it like where you are?

Right now? It’s kinda hot, but other than that it’s green and lovely, and the sky is quite blue.

– The book that changed your world and/or imprinted on you?

In the fear of being cliché, I’m going to say the Bible. I haven’t yet read the entire thing, but there’s so much life-changing content in there.

– You’re ideal weekend?

Oooh, a fun party with all my closest friends, epic family time, the reading of an excellent book, the watching of an epic movie and more friends/family time…all in one weekend. Yes, let’s somehow smush that in there.

– Why did you start blogging?

Hahaha, honestly it was a spur-of-the-moment decision. My friend started a blog, and I was like, heyyy, blogging kind of sounds fun! So I started my own!

– You’re favourite book to movie adaptation?

I’m going to have to say Ella Enchanted, mostly because they didn’t ruin the book by making it into a movie. The few changes that were made were more appropriate for a movie as the changed scenes in the book would’ve kinda been boring in movie-form. There are other books that I enjoyed as movies, but I have complaints about them so I can’t claim them as my favorites.

– A book that disappointed you?

I am extremely vocal on how disappointed I was by The Fault in Our Stars. I was just expecting too much, I suppose, based on all that hype, but I didn’t really like it. I mean, I did enjoy the last two pages, partially because I was almost done, but partially because the content was sweet, but other than that, it was a major disappointment to me.

– What does your playlist look like?

Hahaha, oh my. You would be looking at a huge mish-mash. I’ve got modern pop songs, tons of Skillet, some Fallout Boy, oldies like Billy Joel, movie soundtracks (those are the best!), some hip-hop, the occasional rap…actually the list keeps going.

– What would you ask your favourite author?

Can we hang out? Please???

And to fulfill my curiosity, these are some things I’d like to know.

  1. This is probably extremely cliché, but what got you starting on blogging?
  2. What is one thing you want everyone to know about yourself?
  3. What type of music do you listen to regularly? Does it help you concentrate?
  4. If you were stranded on an island and to pass the time, you’d re-watch the same movie and keep re-reading the same book for two weeks, what movie and book would you like to be left with?
  5. When you feel you need to say something that could potentially hurt a friend, do you choose your words carefully so you cause the least pain without lying, simply blurt out exactly what’s on your mind, or lie?
  6. Would you rather…for one month: be stranded in a small house with your three best friends or be free to roam the land without anyone at all?
  7. Do you have any ridiculous fears, something you know won’t ever hurt you, but it still kinda freaks you out? If yes, what is it?
  8. If you could live out the life of any fictional character from any form of entertainment, who would you want to be?
  9. What’s an embarrassing tale from your younger days?
  10. What’s your favorite quote?
  11. Would you be able to survive without the internet? (And I don’t mean just a short break. A complete cut-off from it forever.)

These are the wonderful people I’d like to nominate! Swing on by their blogs and have a peek. 🙂
