Poetic Wednesday: Life Haikus

I thought I’d try my hand at haikus this week, so I have a series of four to share with you!
If you don’t know, haikus are 3 line poems that follow a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. 🙂

Finally arrives
Innocent, bright, sweet, and pure
But that won’t last long.

Wants independence
Rejects the love of past years
Searching on her own.

Regrets her mistakes
Working hard to make amends
Is there time for fun?

Enjoys golden years
Precious time to live in present
Knows life is a gift.
